Victoria Memorial is the famous memorial building dedicated to Victoria, Empress of India, is located in Kolkata, the capital city of west Bengal state. It is a beautiful white marble building built in 1921 in the honor of Queen Victoria, the british monarch of united Kingdom and Ireland from 20 June 1837. This monument is an impressive fusion of British and Mughal Architecture. Built on 64 acres of land on Queen’s Way in Kolkata, the Victoria Memorial was intended to serve as a Memorial to dedicate to Queen Victoria. It took 15 years to construct this stunning memorial. The attractive Mughal gardens enclosing the memorial were designed by Lord Redesdale and Sir David Prain – a Scottish Botanist. On the other hand, memoraial was constructed by Messrs.


Tourists can visit the Victoria Memorial all the days except Mondays and second Saturdays, on these days the memorial remains closed. Timing o visit the monument are 10:00 am and 4:00 pm (between January and February) and 10:00 am – 5:00 pm (for the rest of the year). The entry fee for the Indians to the memorial is Rs. 10 and Rs. 150 for foreigners. Victoria Memorial travel and tourism provides the best experience of travelling to this wonderful monument.
