Venna Lake

Venna Lake

Another well known tourist attraction in the city of Mahabaleshwar is the Venna Lake, which is sprawled over the territory of the Indian state of Maharashtra. The lake was built by Shri Appasaheb Maharj in 1842, the then Raja of Satara. The lake is stretched over an area of 28 acres with its average depth of 10 feet and is all surrounded by greenery. The facilities of boat riding and horse riding are available at the lake. This heavenly destination is nestled in Sahyadri hills from Deccan plateau and can be even viewed from the passing road.

Also you don’t need to worry about being empty stomach for stretched hours as there are stalls of snacks and other foodstuff on the lake sides. Being fed by the repeated spring and encircled by the blooming flowers is what makes it a popular and one of the most frequented attractions in the city. The lake is easily accessible by the road and is situated at just a 2 km drive from the central market.
