This small city is situated on the banks of the Western coast in India, and is just about 60 km in the northeast of the city of Mumbai. Ulhasnagar is also recognized as Sindhunagar for the fact that most of the residents, residing here are from Sindhi community. The more popular name of the city Ulhasnagar has taken its name from the Ulhas River, which gushes through the city. The phrase `Ulhas` means happiness and `nagar` means city. Thus, the city is considered as the `city of happiness`.
