The Statue of Dupleix is a 3 meters tall statue of Francois Dupleix. The monument was built to honor Francois Dupleix, who used to govern Pondicherry from 1742 to 1754. He was the Governor General of French establishment in India. Built in 1870, the statue of Dupleix is constructed over beautiful granite columns at Place du Republique. This amazing statue is an example of the French architecture.
