Established in 17th century AD by Mera Lama Lodre Gyasto, Tawang Monastery is one of the biggest monasteries in Asia. Lies in arunachal Pradesh state of India, the monastery is the birth place of the 6th Dalai Lama. The monastery is also known as Galden Namgyal Lhatse.
