Tawa Reservoir is a large reservoir is erected on the Tawa River, which forms a part of the central state of India, Madhya Pradesh. The reservoir is situated in the district of Hoshangabad in the central India.


The reservoir was created out of the Tawa Dam, which started off with its construction in rte year 1958 and took 20 years in its completion as was erected as a complete structure in 1978. During its construction period, it submerged about forty four villages. Tawa Reservoir is around 57.91 m in height and 1,815 m in length. The reservoir is maintained by the Water Resources Department of Madhya Pradesh.


The dam supplies water for irrigation to several thousand hectares of farming land in the districts of Hoshangabad and Harda and; has brought prosperity specifically to the former district. The place is also quite an attraction to the tourists, especially during the monsoon season. In the place, there is also a facility to have an enjoyable cruise boat ride, which is organized and managed by the tourism department.


The other attractions in the area are the Satpura National Park and Bori Wildlife Sanctuary, which are situated in its western borders.
