The Sultan Mahal stands as one of the royal palaces of Samode, which lies in the Indian state of Rajasthan. The palace used to be the palace of the Rawals’ of Samode, who were the then prime ministers of the royal court of Jaipur. Today, it’s been more than four centuries that the Rawals have been the resident of this palace. The place of Samode has been awarded to Gopal Singh, with inherited title of Rawal Saheb by his father Prithviraj Singhji of Amber, who was the seventeenth prince of the house of the house of Kachhawaha clan of Rajputs.


Sultan Mahal of Samode is one of the sought after destinations in the region. The Samode Palace, which has already been converted into a heritage hotel, was constructed about 400 years ago. The Sultan Mahal was constructed later in the main palace. The interiors of the palace are typically showing a magnum opus of Rajput and Mughal architectures. Some of the best frescos and styles can be witnessed from the fort interiors. The beautification of the palace with embossing and renovation was done later.


The Sultan Mahal of Samode marks a distinction in the map of Samode region for its appealing frescos and colorful fortifications. Sultan Palace is a part of the Samode Palace and for that reason; it is weighed down with silver fittings and antiqued grabs the eye balls of the bystanders, giving a glimpse of the grandeur of the past.


The Sultan Palace has polished façade, the vivacious frescos along with the carved casements and a signature of luxurious Rajput architecture. The palace is an opulent spot with rich aesthetic, artistic, cultural and architectural tradition of the Rajputs.


However, today the Sultan Mahal is serving as more of a resting spot where the visitors can laze around, having pleasures in the wealthy artistic décor and can also go through the books revealing the cultural past of the palace.
