State museum of Kohima is situated in Nagaland state of India and is one of the tourists’ favorite hotspot in the region. The museum exhibits beautiful artifacts relating to Naga culture and its lifestyle. The state museum of Kohima provides the visitors a glimpse of the diverse tribal habitats and cultures. The superbly presented State Museum includes plenty of tableaus with mannequins-in-action depicting different traditional Naga lifestyles. Along with that, ancestral weaponry, carved gatepost, status pillars that records Feast of Merit, traditional Naga costumes and jewellery of Nagas are also presented beautifully at the museum. Tourists will have great time exploring the artifacts belonging to the different tribes inhabiting the Nagaland state at the museum. The sixteen tribes of Nagaland are represented at the museum with beautiful artifacts.


One of the most important attractions of this museum is Ceremonial Drum, which is very large and beautiful. One can also look at traditional dresses kept inside the museum which are the symbols of state’s rich culture. The museum is just 2kms away from Kohima.
