Sholavaram Lake

Another rain-fed reservoir in Tamil Nadu is Sholavaram Lake, which is positioned in Ponneri taluka of the district of Thiruvallur in the state of Tamil Nadu, the southernmost part of India. The lake Sholavram is another source of water to the state capital Chennai.

The lake is surrounded by greenery appearing as if it is sitting in the nature’s lap. The lake renders a beautiful view as it is sprawled over a considerable size of area witnessing perfect view of sunset and sunrise. On a glimpse from an angle of the lake, the lake gives a view of being in a shape of the alphabet C. However with very less amount of showers since the last three years, the lake has turned down to a little pond. On an excursion to the lake you can also plan for its nearby cities, which are Chennai and Arani. If you wish to have land in secluded and peaceful place, the lake is a perfect destination for you.
