The untouched beach named as Shankarpur as yet, is a recent invention lies in the eastern side of the Didha Beach at a distance of about 14 km in its eastern side, running along the Digha Contai Road. The beach is located in the district of East Medinipur in the northeast Indian state of West Bengal. The beach is also considered as the twin beach of Digha, which is situated just at a distance of about 10 km from it, as it has all in it minus the crowd.
The beach is placed in a deserted areas it offers the opportunity to have the delight of a private beach. The beach is an excellent location for capturing the precious and wonderful moments, giving an opportunity to explore your photography skills. The beach is infringed with the casurina plantations giving a life to the region.
The beach also serves as a regular fishing port for the local people. Shankarpur is a surprise package for the world as is largely hidden, just known to the locals. This secluded beach resort, infringed with casuarinas and eucalyptus groves, which provides a delightful walkway till the point where the delta of two small rivers prohibits taking another step ahead. The other attractions in the area are its revered temples.

The best time to visit the beach is from December to February. Shankarpur is easy accessible as it is well connected by bus service and train service. Regular buses ply between Calcutta and Shankarpur.
