Saroornagar Lake, a manmade lake is nestled in the south Indian city of Hyderabad in the state of Andhra Pradesh. This lake was built in the year 1626, for solving the problem of drinking water crisis and for other agricultural and irrigational needs of the people living in the area.


The lake of Saroornagar is sprawled over an area of about 180 acres with its maximum depth of 21 feet or 6.1 meters. This lake stands as one of the five water bodies in Hyderabad but with the increase of population in the area, the lake of Saroornagar became a cesspool for the domestic sewage.


Presently, the lake holds an amusement park for the children, along with that the lake also offers the facility of boating. If you want to satisfy your taste buds then guys there is a restaurant standing in the lake region itself.


The park has beautiful landscapes, striking sculptures, green stretched lawns, incorporating the total area of about 5 acres. Today, this lake has become a favorite place for the morning and evening activities like jogging, walking, running and exercising. Along with that there are benches that are placed on the road side area to sit and relax.


The park is also an ideal place for the bird watchers as it houses many birds including both domestic as well as migratory ones.
