Situated in Uttar Pradesh state of India, Sarnath Museum is the popular tourist hotspot for all. The museum is known for rich collection of sculptures comprising numerous Buddha and Bodhisattva images. The museum was built in 1910 and is meant to preserve various amazing antiques of that time. There are five galleries and two verandahs. The 5 galleries are named as Tathagata, Triratna, Shakyasimha Gallery, Trimurti and Ashutosh Gallery. Along with that, Vastumandana and Shilparatna are the two verandas of the museum. The antiquities in the museum range from 3rd century BC to 12th century AD.


The place is featured with the finest specimens of Buddhist art and other valuable crafts. Along with that, the other objects of interest at Sarnath are the Dharmrajika Setup, magnificent Lion capital, India’s National Emblem at Sarnath museum, the Saddharmachakra Vihar’s at excavated ruins. The museum exhibits the rich collection of artifacts excavated from the Archeological site at Sarnath.


There are lots of amazing artifacts to explore at the place. The museum remained open on all the days from 10 am to 5 pm except on Fridays. The entry fee to this museum is Rs 10 and is worth place to visit for all.
