Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel National Memorial is a museum situated in Moti Shahi Mahal located in Shahibaug, Ahmedabad city, in Gujarat state of India. Moti Shahi Mahal was built by Mughal emperor Shahjahan between 1618 and 1622 and is dedicated to Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel. There is an open garden all around the museum. The place narrates the whole life of Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel through pictures, portraits, biographical descriptions, political cartoons, clippings from newspapers, quotes from people who knew him, relics and personal possessions from his life.
Portraits of Sardar Patel and his family are displayed at the museum. One can also get to know the biography of the Indian activist Sardar Patel at Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel National Memorial. The museum is also having the national flag which was designed by Indian national congress in 1930. It is one of the major attractions at the museum. Apart from that, there is a room in the museum which exhibits the documents regarding Sardar Patel’s work as the Home Minister of India, his efforts in integrating the princely states, his legal career and his education.
The museum can be visited from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm on all the days except on Sundays and public holidays.
