Rhino Heritage museum is an important tourists destination in Shillong, the capital of northeastern state Meghalaya in India. Situated near military school, the museum lies at the t-junction of NH-44 and NH-40. The museum is beautifully displayed with many historical photographs related to the military as well as things related to the local culture. The building in which the museum is housed was built in 1928 and during WWII Japanese prisoners were kept here. There is a gallery in the museum which was made in the memory of Capt. Keishing Clifford Nongrum. This gallery is displayed with the citation of bravery, a few photographs, and a letter written by his father as well as copies of some of his handwritten manuscripts. The museum is exhibited with the weapons relating to the War of Liberation for Bangladesh. Other items at the museum include rifles, machine guns and other equipment made by China, Iraq and NATO.
