The Reis Magos Church also known as the Church of the Three Magi Kings was also a combined effort of the 8 Franciscan Friars in 1555 AD, in the town of Reis Magos. These men were assigned a task to spread the Christianity in the area.


The façade of the Reis Magos Church is in a whitewashed condition and is dedicated to St Jerome and was built soon after the fort that stands just above it. There are some relics of the Portuguese in the area, giving the evidences of the past. Located in a serene ambience and is clearly visible from across the river in the capital city of Goa, Panaji. It is believed that two of the former Portuguese Viceroys were buried here at the place.


The church is beautifully decorated with various colors, along with some striking wooden engraved showpieces depicting, the Three Wise Men carrying gifts for baby Jesus. It was being done in a Baroque manner. Every year, on the 6th of January, this story is enacted by the local youths and this occasion is known as the Festa dos Reis Magos.
