Rath Yatra is the world famous festival celebrated with immense spirit and zeal in the city called Puri lies in Orissa, India. The festival is associated with the Lord Jagannath (avatar of Lord Vishnu) held in the months of June or July.


The Puri Rath Yatra is famous all over the world and is visited by large number of people every year from various parts of in and around the country. Rath yatra in other words is a Chariot Festival where the people who are not allowed to enter the temple get to see the deities. The festival is celebrated with equality and integrity.


The Jagannath temple in Puri is available with 3 deities of Lord Jagannath, his elder brother Lord Balabhadra and their sister Subhadra. On the day of Rath Yatra, the deities are taken out on road so that everyone can get to see their god.  The 3 deities where taken to their aunt’s temple (Gundicha Temple) during the Rath Yatra which is 2 km away from the lord Jagannath temple. The festival is marked by great enthusiasm amongst the worshippers who came from various parts of the country just to have a glance of their god.
