Ramakrishna Beach stands as one of the favorite evening spot of the people of Vizag. With its beautiful backdrop the beach renders the view of the vast stretched waters gathering the beauty and putting up together on the scene. The mesmerizing beauty of the pristine waters on the beach merges with the scintillating white sands and at the end these beaches are infringed with the lush groves. This beach of Visakhapatnam lies along the Bay of Bengal, this beach is a continuation of the Coromandal Coast.
The calm waters attract the colorful blended crowds of the tots, young and the old ones that enjoys fun filled times on the sand bed.
It is believed that the name of the beach has been derived from the famous Ramakrishna Mission ashram that the beach holds. The beach offers a great opportunity for sunbathing, sun tanning and is also popular among surfers.
There is a nearby attraction of the beach called the Lawson’s Bay and together both these beaches are called as the Twin Beaches and stands with one of the most splendid backdrop on the eastern coast of India. There is another attraction in its close vicinity that is the INS Kursura Submarine Museum.
The other excursions from the Ramakrishna Beach are Kailasagiri, Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, Simhachalam, Bheemunipatnam, Shipbuilding Centre etc.
The best time to pay a visit to this hill resort is in the months from August to October and January to March. The place can be reached by airways, railways as well as roadways as the city of Visakhapatnam operates all modes of transports.
