Rabindra Sarobar is an artificial Lake located at Ballygunge, South Kolkata on Southern Avenue in West Bengal state, India. The lake offers a pleasing delight to the tourists and is also recognized as Dhakuria Lake. The lake covers an area of 76 hectares and is surrounded by beautifully hanging trees. Equipped with parks and gardens the place offers you to relax and have some your time to get out of your daily tiredness. The lake is home for many fishes but fishing is not allowed at the lake. Tourists can also come to across various beautiful migratory birds at the lake. Other than that, there are various other structures that are situated around the lake including a football stadium called Rabindra Sarovar Stadium, an ancient mosque, an open-air theatre called Mukta Mancha, a Japanese Buddhist temple by Nichidatsu Fuji and a cultural institute known as Ramakrishna Mission. Apart from these, there are a number of swimming and rowing clubs that surrounds the lake such as Calcutta Rowing Club, Lake Club, Anderson Club, Bengal Rowing Club and Calcutta University Rowing Club.
