Pasighat

The oldest town of the state Arunachal Pradesh, Pasighat is also the headquarters of the district of East Siang, which lies in the north eastern Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. The town is erested at an elevation of about 155 m and renders a truly magnificent view of the natural beauty.

Founded by the British Administrators in 1911 AD, it acted as the gateway to the administrative convenience of the greater Abor Hills and northern area.

It used to be the primary settlement area for the Pasi and Minyong communities who still are there in the villages around the town of Pasighat. In the year 2011, January only, the town of Pasighat completed 100 years of its existence. Pasighat by Rail: The nearest rail head is Murkong Selek, which is located just at a distance of about 35 km from the town.
