Stuck between highlands and weather-beaten cliffs, Panchgani is erected at an altitude of 1334 m above the sea level; and is merely 38 m lower than Mahabaleshwar.

The foremost hill town while heading for Pune from Mahabaleshwar, Panchgani is one of the best getaways in Maharashtra. It is the first hill town one reaches from Mahabaleshwar on the Pune road. The boardwalks are densely sun-shaded by lush green groves and foliage. This virgin and innocent place is also known for its production of sweet and luscious strawberries. it also offers with an opportunity for paragliding.


The town Offers breathe taking views of the River Krishna on one side and the coastal plains on the other. The river Krishna strolls through tiny villages, farms and gorges, dropping down at a depth of hundreds of meters.
