National gallery of art in Maharashtra state operates under Ministry of Tourism and Culture – Department of Culture, Government of India. Its Mumbai branch was opened up in 1966 and since then it is operating exhibitions in the city on regular basis. The museum houses wide variety of artifacts made by different artists from all over the world. Some of the rare artwork can also be seen at the museum.
National gallery of art is situated opposite Prince of Wales museum, on the MG road, Mumbai. The museum is featured with contemporary Indian modern art to designs from all other countries including Pablo Picasso’s works and Egyptian artifacts like mummies, statues etc. National Gallery of Art is available with the artworks of various different artists, sculptures and civilizations. Apart from that there are various other fabulous things one can explore at the museum.
The museum houses the most exclusive variety of artwork from all over the world. It is one of the main attractions in the city and is visited by lot of tourists. The place is worth to visit for all.
The national gallery of art remains closed on Mondays. One can visit the place from Tuesday to Sunday from 11.00 am to 5.00 pm.
