Nalanda

Nalanda is a renowned 5th century educational institution set up established by the Gupta rulers in Bihar state of India. However, it was the Buddhist learning center still it imparts the education on various subjects including Brahmanical subjects, philosophy, grammar, Sanskrit, theology, astrology, medicine, mathematics and tantric studies. The university was once an important learning and education center that recorded over 10,000 monks and 1,500 teachers. The place was later destroyed by the Muslim invaders.
