Nagaur cattle fair is the popular fair of Rajasthan state, India. The fair held in the city of Nagaur and is attended by the people from various parts of the country. The Nagaur Cattle Fair in Nagaur is the famous fair where cattle are traded on large expanse. The fair is organized every year for 8 days. The fair is organized in the months of January – February, the month of Magha according to Hindu calendar.
Nagaur is said to be the second biggest cattle fair of Rajasthan. Every year about 70, 000 bullocks, camels and horses are traded. The fair is not known for the quantity of the cattle that are raised here but is popular because of the quality of cattle that are brought and traded at the spot.
In the Nagaurs Cattle Fair all the cattle are beautifully decorated with beautiful clothing and accessories. The owners also come up with amazing turbans in vibrant colors and designs along with the impressive long moustaches.
Apart from cattle that are exhibited and traded in the Nagaur Cattle Fair, there are many other wooden items, iron-crafts, camel leather accessories, etc that are made available for the visitors. The famous Mirchi Bazaar or Red Chili Market of India is also organized.
Various entertaining sports are also organized for as the source of entertainment and fun at Nagaur Cattle Fair in Nagaur such as tug-of-war, camel races, bullock races and cockfights. Other jugglers, puppeteers, storytellers, campfire evenings and Jodhpur Folk music add extra charm to the occasion.
