Mount Harriet in the islands of Andaman and Nicobar is placed at a height of about 365 meters in Ferrargunj tehsil of the Islands also known as the Union Territory of India. The park is sprawled over an area of about 46.62 sq km. Andaman and Nicobar Islands Mount Harriet is the highest point in the South Andaman. The nearest town and airport is port Blair at a distance of about 200 km.
The park was named after the wife of Robert Christopher Tytler, who was a British soldier, a naturalist and a photographer, was also an officiating Superintendent of the Convict Settlement at Port Blair in the Andaman from April 1862 to February 1864.
Once had been the summer headquarters of the Chief Commissioner. Mount Harriet is located at such height as it renders you with a majestic view of the cluster of islands. The park provides a natural trek track up till Madhuban. When moving in, to the park you will have glimpses of all the varieties of animals, birds and butterflies found in this region.

To the north, Mount Harriet houses a National Park, renders the park as the wildlife spot. The forest land of the islands has lush green and thick tropical rain forests. The vegetation is characterized by humid, warm and wet tropical climate. The fauna of this park comprises Andaman wild pigs, saltwater crocodiles, turtles, robber crab and elephants. The important birds are Andaman hill mynah and imperial pigeon.
