Manas National Park is the beautiful wildlife sanctuary and a pristine biosphere reserve in Assam. The park comprises of the various endangered species such as Assam Roofed Turtle, Hispid Hare, Golden Langur and Pygmy Hog. The sanctuary is also famous for the large population of Wild water buffalo. The name of the park is derived from the Manas River, which is also named after the serpent goddess Manasa.
