Kochi, previously known by a name of Cochin, is a part of the Indian state of Kerala. It is also accredited for having one of the main seaports of the country, which is positioned in the district of Ernakulam, at a distance of 220 km towards the north of the state capital, Thiruvananthapuram.

The city is commonly known as the Queen of Arabian Sea, Kochi is regarded as the industrial capital of Kerala. The city is a commercial hub of this flourishing state. Kochi is an emerging centre of information technology, tourism and international trade and also stands as one of the fastest growing second-tier metros in India.

The most popular attractions in the city are the Chinese Fishing Nets, which are believed to be introduced by the Chinese explorer Zheng He. These nets can be spotted across the entire coastline near Fort Kochi and Vypeen.
