The island of Kadmat is a pinnacle of an underwater mountain of the Lakshadweep-Chagos Archipelago mountain-chain in the Arabian Sea, is a calm and composed spot and renders an option to enjoy ones solitude.


The strength of Kadmat Island lies in its marine wealth. The island is enclosed with the lagoons both its eastern as well as western side, rendering a sight of spectacular beauty, long and white coral beaches and all this makes the island a place of an ideal holiday, in the region. The coral reef systems and reef banks are an exceptional feature here. Kadmat offers peace, solitude and serenity with its natural beauty.


Kadmat makes an excellent tourist spot for sun bath and is also famous for its long stretched silver beaches. It also stands as one of the settled islands in Lakshadweep with dense coconut palms infringing the beaches. Isolated from the Mainland, Kadmat Island is known for its lime stones that are used for construction reasons.


The island is a small one and holds a great and a gorgeous lagoon which is hemmed in with the coral reefs. On the island, there is a contracted lagoon, which falls on the eastern side and is known for its trait of being drying up at low tide periods.


There is a special and an attractive bank, which happens to be on the southern most side of the island, makes the best spot for sun baths. The island renders several beautiful beaches and reefs to explore, which gives an option to get involved in various water sports and other activities.


The nearest airport is at Agatti Airport, and from here there are major international flights available at regular intervals from Cochin International Airport to the island. Cruises are also available from Cochin Harbour.
