Jwalamukhi Fair is an important fair celebrated in Jwalamukhi temple in the Kangra valley of Himalaya’s lies in the Himachal Pradesh state of India. The festival is celebrated twice in a year, once in April and another in October. The fair is organized to honor Jwalamukhi Devi, the goddess of volcano. The large numbers of devotees come to visit the fair and worship their goddess. People visit the Jwala Kund in which the sacred fire burns and make their offerings. The fair hosts great religious significance for the visitors. Apart from that, there are various amazing things that people can enjoy here. Some of them include Folk-dances, songs, plays, wrestling matches and athletics.


The fair celebrated at Jwalamukhi temple is the famous pilgrim centre of Hindus in Northern India. The temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas of India. There is no idol in the Jwalamukhi temple, rather the huge flame is considered as the expression of goddess there. A lot of people come to visit the temple to take blessing of their deity. Jwalamukhi fair is one of the best times when huge crowd throng the place to preach the goddess. Milk and water are mostly offered to the flame in the Jwalamukhi temple during the fair. The Puja and Archana follows for the whole day.
