Lies in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh is the Indravati National Park. It is one of the best and the most amazing wildlife reservoir in Chhattisgarh. The park has the total area of 2799.08 sq.km and is named after the Indravati River that flows from east to west and borders Maharashtra in the north. The park is the home for wild buffalos that are found very rare. Also, Indravati National Park is the only tiger reserve in Chhattisgarh.
Indravati National Park is famous for bird species and diverse wildlife that also includes most endangered species such as Wild Buffalos and Hill Mynas. The amazing scenic beauty and the great reserves of the place make it an ideal place for nature lovers and wildlife researchers. The park is surrounded with green vegetation all around. The place looks awesome and it must be visited by everyone.
The park includes the species of Gaur (Indian Bison), Nilgai, Black Buck, Chausingha (Four-horned Antelope) and Sambar. Some of the easily found reptiles are Indian Chameleon, Common Krait, Crocodile and Monitor Lizard. These all are the major tourists attraction in Indravati National Park.
Indravati National Park is one of the adventurous and the most beautiful place to be photographed at. Being the part of Chhattisgarh the ideal time to visit the sanctuary is from mid December to mid June. Summers are not favorable to visit Indravati National Park.
Jagdalpur is the main place to visit for Indravati National Park. While travelling on road, you will find village Kutrue that strikes entry for the park. It is located 22.4 km in the north of Jagdalpur-Bhopalpattanam road. Also, Raipur airport which is 486 km from park is the nearest option if travelling through airways. On the other hand, Jagdalpur railway station at the distance of 168 km from the Indravati National Park is the way to travel through rail medium.
