In India, the great day of Independence is annually celebrated on August 15 as this culturally rich country got its independence on 15th August, 1947 and this day is commemorated to remember and rejoice the great achievement. Thus, there is a national holiday on this very day.


Independence Day also paves a day to pay reverence to the great freedom fighters, who sacrificed their lives for this sacred deed and freed the country. The day is celebrated with great enthusiasm and also provides an opportunity to render the children a feeling of patriotism and renders them a glimpse of the victorious past of the country which was given a picture by the great leaders of the country.


On this day, government edifices are illuminated with strings of lights in tricolor along with other buildings. This day is celebrated in stadiums and theaters which host shows and events reflecting the struggling period and the efforts and contributions of the great freedom fighters.


Even the broadcast channels, print media all covers the footages and news of the celebration in different areas. All the TV programs contain a single theme as to give a message of patriotism through it to their spectators.


The day also witness president speech regarding “Address to the Nation”, then there is hoisting of flag in the open air, which also happens in the country capital at the venue of Red Fort in Old Delhi. Likewise, the celebrations are also held at the schools, and other institutions.
