The Ganga Lake is also acknowledged as the Gyakar Sinyi Lake and is situated in the western part of the state capital boundaries, forming a part of the state of Arunachal Pradesh. The topography of this serene lake is such that it is nestled in the midst of the rugged hills of the outer ranges of the Himalayas. The lake is sprawled over an area which estimates to about 67,500 sq and is flanked by lush green forests and abundant of orchid species.


The literal meaning of the name of the lake Gekar Sinyi is confined water, which is enveloped in the natural beauty along with its calm and peaceful environment, which renders peace to the soul. The lake forms a silhouette of triangle which is all infringed by thick vegetation which includes ferns and sky touch trees.


The lake also offers recreational opportunities like boating and also has a small tidy park with healthy surroundings making it a perfect picnic destination and a weekend day out. The lake is a must visit spot of Itanagar and also has become a part of the tour itinerary in the city.
