Quila Rai Pithora is the first Red Fort built in the capital of India, Delhi. This beautiful fort was built by the Prithviraj Chauhan, the grandson of Vigraharaja IV.  He built this fort by extending the fortress of Lal Kot, and erecting huge fortifications and moats around it. Today, the ruins of Quila Rai Pithora have been conserved in a 20-acre DDA Conservation Park at Mehrauli. The park comprises of has an 18-foot high statue of Prithviraj Chauhan and a library, which is developed for the tourists who want to know the various artifacts and the information about the Gateway of Rai Pithora.
