Gangasagar Mela is certainly the largest fair of the state. The festival goes with its name, Gangasagar Mela as is held in the district of South 24 Pargana, also known as Gangasagar or can address as the shores of the massive Bay of Bengal. The festival marks its beginning with Makar Sakranti, when masses of devotees gather at the picturesque Sagar Dwip islands.
