The second largest lake of Asia, Dhebar Lake which is also recognized as Jaisamand Lake is located in the Udaipur district of Rajasthan state in India. The lake is spread in an area of 87 sq. km. It is formed by Rana Jai Singh in 17th century when a dam was built by him across the Gomti River. It is the second largest artificial lake in Asia. The name Dhebar Lake is derived from the tribe of Nagar Brahmins which is the highest class of people in India.


It is one of the most beautiful Lake sin India and is a great place to visit for tourists. There are around 3 islands in the lake each built in an area of 10 to 40 acres (160,000 m2).
