Devikulam

Devikulam hill station derived its name from the Devikulam Lake, which lies in the vicinity. Together the term Devikulam denotes lake (kulam) of the Goddess (Devi). In compliance with the legends, Goddess Sita, the wife of Lord Rama (an incarnation of the Hindu God Vishnu) used to bathe in the gleaming waters of this serene lake when they came on an exile in the woods for 14 years.

Thus, there originated the name known as Devikulam. A tour to Devikulam offers a perfect opportunity to have a relaxing and refreshing vacation as the site nestles in the lap of Mother Nature. This petite town is positioned at an altitude of about 1000 meters from sea level and is at a drive of 13km south west from Munnar, down the Munnar-Kumily Highway, SH 19.
