An amazingly adventurous place near Nanital is the famous Corbett National Park. The place is the extension to the small zoos that are often visited by parents with their children for some picnics. The place seems like jungle in first sight and has various species of flora and fauna that one can explore there. Corbett National Park was named after James E. Corbett who used to manage and live at the place for many years. In 1991, the area of the park was extended and it now also includes Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary.


There are about 488 different species of plants in the park that includes Sal, Ber, Kuthber, Kharpat, Rohini, Bel, Chbilla, Khair, Sissoo, Dhak, Bakli, Pula and Bamboo. Other than these, one can explore different species of reptiles, amphibians, fish and dragonflies at Corbett National Park. Other than that, tourists can also have the site of tiger reserves in the park. However, one have to stay for two or more days as tigers are not so common here.


Dhikala, Bijrani, Jhirna and Corbett Museum are the most popular places to visit at Corbett National Park. Along with these, tourists can enjoy Elephant safari which includes the ride of the park through sitting on the elephant. People enjoy camping at the place. Jeep safaris are also popular amongst tourist travelling to Corbett National Park.


Climate in Corbett National park depends in what season one is travelling. Summers here are hot when temperature often reaches to 44°C and the winters are cold here where the temperature here drops down up to 4°C. It is well connected through all the different mediums of transportation. One can travel through all the means at the desired point of time. Ramnagar is the way to enter this amazing place.
