Chettinad Palace

Chettinad Palace

Located at Kanadukathan in Chettinad region of the Tamil Nadu state, Chettinad Palace is the famous tourist attraction in India. Designed and constructed by S. A. Ramaswamy Chettiar, the Chettinad palace is one of the oldest surviving palaces in India, from around 110 years.  It started building in 1902 and it took 10 years for the complete construction of the Palace.

The palace is built in traditional architectural style of Chettinad and is a marvel in itself providing a lot of things to be explored at the palace. One of the interesting things about the palace is that the most of the material and other decorative items used in the construction of the palace is imported from East Asian countries and Europe. The rooms of this mansion are built using Burmese teak wood and the other furnishings at the palace are just too amazing that it needs a special mention while talking about the Chettinad Palace. Apart from that, the palace has got a huge dining hall that can accommodate 250 people at one time. Also, the beautifully stone-carved pillars in the courtyard of the palace are really admirable. A lot of other things and aspects are there for you to explore at this heritage home in Tamil Nadu. Chettinad Palace travel and tourism offers an immense pleasure of discovering all the aspects of the palace at its best.
