Charalkunnu, one of the famous hill stations in the Pathanamthitta District of the state of Kerala. Lying just 17 km in the northwest direction of Pathanamthitta town, the place has a panoramic view of the low lying valleys and river Pamba.


The district Pathanamthitta derived its name from the two Malayalam words “Pathanam” and “Thitta” which when combined together forms the meaning “array of houses on the river side”. The district is also considered as the pilgrimage headquarters of Kerala, with the territory possessing beauty at its best with its shrines, streams, mountain ranges, coconut trees, along with many other things like paddy, tapioca, vegetables, spices, pepper etc.
