One of the most visited beach destination in the state of Goa is the Candolim Beach, which is located just at a distance of about 15 km from the state capital, Pannaji. This Candolim Beach is situated in the district of North Goa. It claims to be one of the longest beaches in the state of Goa and it opens at the Fort Aguda and at the end it merges with the beach called Calangute Beach.
The beach forms a part of the Bardez Taluka and is a quiet and peaceful beach, enveloped in the beauty of pristine sands and scintillating waters along with the sand dunes that are covered with scrubs and shrubs that adds an additional charm to the scenery.
The main road of the Candolim Beach is all packed with a line of hotels and restaurants but the beach front is clear from all these commercial activities. At the beach front you can enjoy all the water sports activities, recreational activities or can just laze around in the sands of the beach. You can also enjoy have some leisure strolls and enjoy the nature at its best. The gushing waves and the whispering palms will make you feel like interacting and sharing their experience of this natural set up. With that, in the shopping stalls that are lined up at the fringes of the beach front, you can have articles and handicrafts that reflect the culture of Goa.
Another attraction at the Candolim beach is the ship known as River Princess, which is believed to have been stuck at the shores of the beach, since 2000. The place is also popular as the birth place of the Abba Faria, who is believed to be the freedom fighter of Goa and acknowledged as the Father of Hypnotism.

The best time to visit the place is in the months from November to February. Being located on the main road the beach is easily accessible via road and the nearest bust stand is at Mapusa. The Dabolim airport provides the connectivity of the beach to the rest of the country through air.
