Campbell Bay National Park is located on the island of Great Nicobar, the largest of the Nicobar Island in the eastern Indian Ocean and is also a part of Great Nicobar Biosphere Reserve. it is positioned about 190 km towards the north of Sumatra.
The park was alloted the status of being the national park in 1992 and is sprawled over an area of about 426 sq km, but is seperated by a small national park known as Galathea National Park by a 12-km wide forest buffer zone. It was declared as a national park in 1992 and forms part of the Great Nicobar Biosphere Reserve.
The park has the reserves of flora such as tropical evergreen forest, tree fern, and orchids and fauna includes Nicobar Pigeon, Crab eating Macaque, Giant Robber Crab, Megopode.These comes in the lands of Andamans along the basin side of Glatiya river. these Islandsare also acknowledged as Swaraj Shahid Island by Netaji Subash Chandra bose.
