The famous lake in the state of Uttar Pradesh, Barua Sagar Tal can be traced back from the ancient time around 260 years ago. Barua Sagar Tal is the largest lake built by Raja Udit Singh of the Orchha and the town around this lake is known by a name called Barua Sagar. Near to the Barua Sagar Tal is the Barua Sagar Fort, which has a panoramic view of the Baura Sagar town. This large water body also has renders other excursion from the spot as there are historical forts which are situated in a close proximity to the lake. These forts are Jarai-Ka-Math and the forts of Bundelkand, which also fetch in the historical tales and sagas. The place is rich in natural splendor, with farmlands and long stretches of woods. It is also a perfect spot for water sports.


Near to the lake are the Jarai-Ka-Math and the fort of Bundelkand which have historic background. This temple was built during the Pratiharas reign, its vigorous temple activity which became a characteristic attribute of the Chandellas which was a precursor activity of the temple.


The temple of Jarai-Ka-Math is dedicated to Devi Durga also recognized as Goddess Amba, whose forms are an assortment of a supreme power and these are represented in the generous sculptures and are engraved along the walls of the temple.


The Bundelkand Fort is stationed at a great elevation renders an incredible sight of the scenery and ambiance. The Baura Sagar Tal is easily accessible by both the transport services as by road as well as by rail and these connects the area with the nearby airports at Gwalior and Khajuraho.
