The census town of the district of the West Tripura that forms a part of the Indian state of Tripura, Badharghat has a total population of 47,660, of which the percentage of male population is 51% and female population is 49%. Here in the city the literacy rate is also quite goods as ranges to about 80%, in which 53%is male literacy rate and 47% is female literacy rate. Out of the total population in the city 9% is under the age of 6.


There are four subdivisions of the district are Sadar, Sonamura, Khowai and Bishalgarh. This district also has sixteen blocks, namely Jampuijala, Mandwi, Melaghar, Bishalgarh, Kathalia, Hezamara, Jirania, Padmabhil, Tulashikar, Boxanagar, Teliamura, Mohanpur, Mungiakami, Dukli, Khowai and Kalyanpur.
