Anand Bhavan

Anand Bhavan is a large mansion situated in Allahabad city of Utter Pradesh state ion India. Built by the prominent Indian leader, Motilal Nehru, the place serves to be the ancestral home for the Nehru – Gandhi Family. The two of the late prime ministers of India, Jawahar Lal Nehru and Indira Gandhi was born at the Anand Bhavan.

Today the place has been converted into a museum showcasing the memorabilia of the Nehru–Gandhi family. In 1970 Indira Gandhi donated the Anand Bhanven to the government of India and from then it is a national museum visited by the large number of tourists every year.

Anand Bhavan is open between 9:30 am and 5 pm on all the days except for Mondays and central government holidays. The entrance fee for the museum at the Anand Bhavan is Rs. 5.
