Albert Hall is a famous museum situated among the gardens of Ram Niwas Bagh in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. The museum was established on February 21 ,1887. It was commenced by Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh-II (1835-1880) and completed by Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh-II (1880-1922).Designed by Col Sir Swinton Jacob, the foundation stone of Albert Hall was laid by Prince of Wales (Edward VII) on 6 February, 1876. The museum represents the Indo-Saracenic style of architecture and is based on the Albert museum in London. It is also called as the central government of the museums. The museum has a rich collection of objects such as paints, carpets, ivory, stone, metal sculptures, stained glass works etc. Apart from that, antique fabrics including miniature paintings, carpets, metal and wood crafts, toys, wrists, arms and weapons and an Egyptian mummy belonging to the Ptolemaic era is displayed wonderfully at the museum. Tourist can witness the strong essence of the Rajasthani village culture through the various interesting aspects displayed at the museum.
