Swaminarayan Akshardham, nestled in New Delhi, personifies 10,000 years of Indian ethnicity incorporating in its spectacular majesty, exquisiteness, insight and ecstasy. It displays the spirit of India’s prehistoric architecture, customs and traditions combining with spirituality. The Akshardham experience is an enlightening expedition revealing India’s magnificent art, ethics and contributions for the growth, development, peace and prosperity of humankind.


This prehistoric complex was built in just five years with the blessings of HDH Pramukh Swami Maharaj of the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) and the immense committed efforts of 11,000 artisans and BAPS volunteers. Inspired by the original temple is located in Gujarat, Gandhinagar area, built in 1992 and in Delhi the complex was inaugurated on, 6 November 2005.


The literal meaning of Akshardham is the eternal, divine abode of the supreme God. It has been defined in Vedas and Upanishads that Akshar states the abode of eternal values and virtues, where divine sanctity and serenity pervades forever.


Through the art and architecture of Akshardham, lets the world witness the rich culture and heritage of India with its every aspect, philosophy and beauty by its mandir, exhibitions, verdant gardens and other attractions such as Yogi Hraday Kamal, Narayan Sarovar, Premvati, Ahargruh, AARSH Center, Hall of Values, heater, Musical Fountain and Boat Rides.
