Sprawled over an area of 33 sq km, Saddle Peak National Park was started off with its functioning in Andaman district in the year 1979. It is positioned just at 5 km from Diglipur is an administrative centre of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The park is located in the northern side of the Andaman Islands. Saddle Peak National Park was honored with a status of National Park in the year 1979.


Just 200 km from Port Blair, the capital of the islands and houses the nearest airport to the destination. The forest is encircled with plentiful, lush green and thick tropical forests, having humid, warm and tropical climate. The saddle peak is at an altitude of 732 meters, making it the highest peak in the whole archipelago. The main animal species in the park includes Andaman wild pig, water monitor lizard and salt water crocodile. The important birds found here are Andaman hill mynah and imperial pigeon.


The main fauna found in this park are the Andaman Wild Pigs, Water Monitor Lizards and Salt Water Crocodiles. When visiting the saddle park, you must visit The Lamiya Bay which is situated right next showcasing the vivacious presence of the Dolphins and Whales. Common birds found within the Park include the Hill Mynah and the Andaman Imperial Pigeon.


The best time to visit the place is from November to March.
