Talao Pali popularly known as Masunda Lake falls in the region of Thane in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The phrase ‘Talao’ is taken from the Hindi lingo which represents a lake in Hindi. The lake is one of the most beautiful and famous lakes in the district of Thane.
In fact this lake is considered as one of the prettiest lakes in the entire state of Maharashtra, and also offers a chain of activities like boating and water–scooters for the typical tourists. This spot is a big hit for those who love to treat their taste buds with little local food, with many food stalls set up, which lies close at hand.
It is the favorite spot among the localities for their refreshing weekends. There is another attraction in the lake area itself and that is the famous temple and the oldest temple in the entire district known as Kopineshwar Temple. The temple was built and renovated centuries back, in about 1750 AD by Chimajji Appa. The lake is just at a distance of 20 km from the Thane city centre and is encircled with the roads on all its sides such as Shivaji path (including STATIS flyover), Uthalsar road and Talao pali road. The lake is positioned at a distance of around 600 m west of Thane creek and a kilometer north of Thane railway station.
