Museum of Christina art is an amazing place situated in the land of beaches i.e. Goa, India. The museum exhibits the unique repository of the exquisite church art that blossomed during the Portuguese era. Came into existence in 1994, the museum is one of its kind in Asia. This museum was made with the joint collaboration between Calouste Gulbentian foundation of Portugal and the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), New Delhi. The museum was originally located at the famous Rachol Seminary at Rachol near Margao was later shifted to the convent of Santa Monica, Old Goa in order to attracts more tourists.
The museum of Christina art houses a number of beautiful old paintings, sculptures and statues dating back to the early reign of the Portuguese in Goa. There are various artifacts displayed at the museum that are made by Hindu artists and artisans. The museum exhibits the items depicting the Hindu contribution Christian Art in Goa and India. It is a must place to visit for art lovers as the museum is beautifully presented with the amazing artifacts and Portugal treasures. The museum can be visited on all the days from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. The entry fee to the museum of Christian art is Rs 5 for adults and Rs 2 for children.
