Nurpur Fort is an important historical destination and one of the major tourist attractions in pathankot in Punjab, India. The fort was built by Pathania Rajputs around 900 years ago. The fort was constructed by Raja Basu and was originally called Dhameri. After 100 years of the construction of the fort, it came into the hands of Mughal Emperor Jahangir, who renamed it as Nurpur Fort. Lies on the banks of river Jabbar, there is a lord Krishna temple in the Nurpur fort having a black stone idol of the deity. It is said that the idol this given by a Rajasthani King to the King of Nurpur which is placed inside the temple.
