Bala Quila is an ancient fort located on steep cliff, about 304 meters high in the Alwar city of Rajasthan state of India. It is the beautiful and a huge fort built by Nikumbh Rajputs in 928 A.D. The fort was ruled by Maharao Raja Pratap Singh who was also the founder of Alwar state in 1775 A.D. Bala Quila is built in vast expanse. The vast dimensions of the fort include 15 large and 51 small towers (Burj) along with 446 loopholes for musketry and eight towers (Burj) around it to strengthen its defences. Apart from that the fort is surrounded with six gates namely gates – namely, Jai Pol, Suraj Pol, Laxman Pol, Chand Pol, Krishen Pol and Andheri Gate.
